Am I the only one who is having trouble believing that classes have only been in session for one week? Things have been so busy, it feels like so much longer! Well, if you don’t have any homework to do yet (or if you do, but are looking for an excuse not to do it) check out these writing-related links from around the web:
- Amazon.com is launching a new initiative on the Kindle called @author where you can tweet questions to participating authors while reading their books! I’m conflicted: it’s a cool concept, getting that kind of instant access into the author’s mind, but on the other hand it takes away responsibilities from publishing companies who are increasingly in jeopardy due to new innovations in technology.
- “Novelist Has Whole Shitty World Planned Out.” This Onion article is, as per usual, spot-on and hilarious.
- We’ve seen a lot of responses to and reflections on September 11 this week leading up to the tenth anniversary. Check out The Guardian’s series of short stories about 9/11 or this collection of reader-submitted poetryreflecting on the anniversary (Writer’s Digest).
- For you twitter-folk out there, this #amwriting hashtag sounds pretty cool.
Have a great weekend, everybody! And remember: the Writing Workshop opens this Sunday at 7pm!
