Do you want to publish a book?
Stethoscope Press, Wesleyan’s only student-run press that publishes collections from individual students, is seeking project submissions.
If selected, you will work with one of our editors for the entire academic year to write, polish, and format a creative writing collection of 30-50 pages in the genre(s) of your choice. This is a unique opportunity for you to create a high-quality collection of your own work and see it published in the format you envision to be read by your friends, neighbors, professors, etc.
The submissions deadline is September 30th.
If selected, this is a yearlong commitment to compose a large work. You will meet bi-weekly with your editor and you will have big, scary deadlines. It will also be immensely fun.
- A project proposal: This should take the form of a paragraph or two describing your intention for your collection (ex. I want to publish a collection of short stories about space travel. I plan to use this unique long format to…)
- Sample of previous work: A handful of poems, a short story, a chapter of a novel, an essay, etc. in the genre you plan to write your project.
Send submissions, questions, feelings to: stethoscopepress(at)gmail(dot)com.
