“Birds Blur Together”: Poetry Reading this Friday

Charlotte Heyrman ’13 has organized an awesome poetry reading, which will take place this FRIDAY, September 14 at 7 p.m. in the backyard of 69 Home Avenue. She writes:

This Friday, RM O’Brien and Lesser Gonzalez Alvarez will read from their recently published chapbook, ‘Birds Blur Together.’

The chapbook is a collection of collaborative pieces written by RM and Lesser. Each poem, a result of exchange of the written word, was composed with a flexible mythological framework.  Some are complete re-writes, others an amalgamation of responses between the two poets, and in some, the original poem shifted only ever so slightly. The poets describe Birds Blur Together as “an asystematic manifesto—with no agenda besides unconscious ones.”

RM and Lesser are both live in Baltimore, Maryland and are members of the Wham City Collective.

Our visitors will be share the bill with some of Wesleyan’s finest poets: Betsy Sallee, Claire Dougherty, Joshua Krugman, and Virgil Taylor.

This event is co-sponsored by the Shapiro Creative Writing Center and the Student Budget Committee.

We hope to see you there!
